TEL: Low-Latency Failover Traffic Engineering in Data Plane

چکیده

Modern network applications demand low-latency traffic engineering in the presence of failure, while preserving quality service constraints like delay and capacity. Fast Re-Route (FRR) mechanisms are widely used for re-routing purposes failure scenarios. Control plane FRR typically computes backup forwarding rules to detour data when occurs. This mechanism could be computed with emergence programmable planes. In this paper, we propose a system (called TEL ) that contains two mechanisms, namely, TEL-C TEL-D. The first one control plane, satisfying max-min fair allocation. second provides plane. Both algorithms require minimal memory on planes well-suited modern line rate match-action architectures (e.g., PISA). We implement both P4 software switches BMv2 Tofino) measure their performance various topologies. obtained results from datacenter topology show our can improve flow completion time up 4.6 $\times$ –7.3 (i.e., small flows) 3.1 –12 large compared recirculation-based such as F10, respectively.

Resilient Packet Ring Low Priority Traffic Latency

Resilient Packet Ring (RPR IEEE 802.17) is an insertion buffer, dual ring technology, utilizing a back pressure based fairness algorithm to distribute bandwidth when congestion occurs. The fairness algorithm may oscillate and under some conditions the oscillations continue indefinitely even under stable load conditions. In this paper, we evaluate the latency experienced by packets sent during s...

Differentiated latency in data center networks with erasure coded files through traffic engineering

This paper proposes an algorithm to minimize weighted service latency for different classes of tenants (or service classes) in a data center network where erasure-coded files are stored on distributed disks/racks and access requests are scattered across the network. Due to limited bandwidth available at both top-of-the-rack and aggregation switches and tenants in different service classes need ...

Low-latency plesiochronous data retiming

A new method of retiming plesiochronous data is described. This method features latency of less than a cell-time and requires only minimal support circuitry. No flow control or handshaking signals are used, allowing true undirectional signalling between transmitter and receiver. Application areas include communication networks in parallel computers, and general communication network repeaters, ...

A low-latency control plane for dense cellular networks

In order to keep up with the increasing demands for capacity, cellular networks are becoming increasingly dense and heterogeneous. Dense deployments are expected to provide a linear capacity scaling with the number of small cells deployed due to spatial reuse gains. However in practice network capacity is severely limited in dense networks due to interference. The primary reason is that the cur...
